Most forums are essentially just "places to post." If you want to upload images or use cloud storage, that's the business of a few other companies. After going through all that, your enthusiasm for posting is gone.
N.HT wants to have all these things ready at hand, and in the future, we'll gradually add all the commonly used MJJ tools too!
1. Upload images, get links—done in a snap
Our goal for image hosting is simplicity; but not oversimplified.
Private albums: On the posting page, click the image button, drag and drop, select, or just
Ctrl/⌘+Vto paste your screenshot—done!
Public image hosting: The album feature allows external linking, with storage limits based on user level, and usage is clear at a glance. Most importantly,
External link management: Even if you link to images hosted elsewhere, the system will automatically transfer them to NHT. These transferred images don't count against your album quota.
User autonomy: If you pay attention, you'll notice we call it an album, not just image hosting. It's not just a difference of one word—users manage deletion, referencing, and review themselves. This keeps albums from becoming a dumping ground for junk.
2. Attachments
It's not just about images. In regular posts, help requests, and replies, you can upload document attachments—up to 50MB per file, with a maximum of 10 files per post.
3. DoH: Your own encrypted DNS
This is probably the most "server admin" tool of them all. Open doh to activate, and you'll get an address to enter into your browser, system, phone, or router's DNS settings. From then on, all your domain name resolutions go through HTTPS:
Encrypted, anti-pollution, split routing: DNS requests are encrypted in transit—no one can peek or tamper with them, effectively preventing DNS pollution and hijacking. The gateway intelligently routes domestic and international domains to different upstream servers. This ensures correct DNS resolution in any complex environment. It's powered by a high-performance Rust gateway with very low latency.
4. @n.ht Email: The world's shortest domain
Every user can create a you@n.ht email address (choose your own name), and read emails directly in the "Mailbox" tab on the site's "Messages" page:
AI sorting: Every incoming email is automatically classified as normal, promotional, suspicious, or spam, and sorted into Inbox / Pending / Spam folders.
AI antivirus: Infected emails are detected and rejected before delivery—they never reach your inbox.
These tools are brought together not to show off, but for one thing: to let you get everything you need for tinkering with servers right here on the site—so you don't have to spread yourself across a bunch of servers you don't control just to make a post.
