There’s too much discussion about AI online.
But most communities either use it as a gimmick to attract users, treat it as just a chatbox, or outright ban all AI articles.
We don’t want to go down those paths. AI should be integrated into every aspect of the community—you won’t notice it when you don’t need it, and it’s right there when you do.

1. Writing posts can be easier

Have you ever had this experience:
Sometimes inspiration strikes, you open the editor, want to write something, but get stuck for five minutes on the tedious title box, body box, section selection, tag selection, and end up closing it.

That’s why in the N.HT editor, the title isn’t required. You can just start writing the body, go as far as you want, and when you’re done, let AI read what you wrote and suggest a title for you.
When we’re typing, a brief pause in our thoughts and AI’s gray text will quietly appear after the cursor, trying to continue your train of thought. If you like it, just hit Tab to accept; if not, keep typing and it’ll disappear automatically. No pop-ups, no interruptions, no forced presence when you don’t need it.

2. After posting, you don’t need to worry about anything

Once your post is published, there’s a lot happening in the background, but you don’t have to deal with it.

It will score your post.
It will also help categorize your post into the right section.
It will assign tags for you, choosing from existing standard tags.
All of this runs asynchronously, so it won’t slow down your posting.

3. Enabling Chinese and English speakers to chat together

This is what I most want to get right.
N.HT is a Chinese community, but when you post in Chinese, AI will automatically generate an English version in the background. English users opening the page will see the English version—no need to find Chrome’s translate button or wait. The translation is pre-generated and stored, so it’s ready instantly. The same goes for English posts.
Of course, for safety, you can always switch back to the original. There’s a small button next to the translation, because for important content, the original is always safest. We’ve written this into the forum rules.

4. Someone helps organize your email

Every user can have an @n.ht site mailbox. When emails come in, AI will first judge: is it normal? Promotional? Suspicious? Spam? Then it automatically sorts them into the appropriate folders.
If a real-time notification is missed, there’s a backup scan mechanism in the background to catch up later. Restarts won’t affect it.

5. AI itself can’t drop the ball

Site-wide AI routing—“one primary, one backup.”

The system constantly monitors the health of the primary route, and if something’s wrong, it automatically switches to the backup, without dumbly waiting for a timeout.
Once the primary is back, it’ll probe with a real request, and only switch back when it’s stable.
You won’t notice the whole process, but the backend monitoring panel shows the status of every route. The deeper AI is embedded, the more solid the foundation needs to be—it’s that simple.
