Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-12 · This is a courtesy translation. In the event of any discrepancy, the Chinese version shall prevail.

1. What We Collect

  • Account information: registration email and username. Passwords are stored only in hashed form — no one (staff included) can see the plaintext.
  • Login records: login time, IP address, etc.; only the latest 50 entries are kept per account, for account security.
  • Content you publish: topics, replies, boosts, direct messages, and uploaded images and attachments.
  • Third-party links: when you actively link Telegram or GitHub, the Site records only the necessary account identifiers and never receives your third-party passwords.
  • Preferences: interface language, theme, etc., kept mostly in your browser's local storage.

2. How We Use It

  • Providing core features: sign-in, posting, notifications, and email (address verification, password recovery, etc.);
  • Security and anti-abuse: authentication, rate limiting, and risk control;
  • Community moderation: handling rule-violating content and reports.

3. Automated Processing

  • For classification, translation, and moderation support, the public content you publish is processed by automated systems (including AI models) — for example, topics may be automatically tagged, categorized, or translated into other languages for display.
  • AI processing is done through model endpoints configured by the Site, which may include third-party model services.
  • Inbound mail to Site mailboxes (@n.ht) goes through virus scanning and automatic classification (including AI) to block malicious mail and identify spam.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

The Site uses cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, prevent cross-site request forgery (CSRF), and remember your language and theme preferences. The Site carries no third-party advertising and does no cross-site tracking.

5. Sharing and Disclosure

  • The Site follows Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) on the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data: transferring personal data to a third party requires your valid consent or a statutory exemption.
  • Without your permission, the Site will not transfer your data to third parties (if SSO sign-in interoperability is offered in the future, it will equally require your explicit authorization); we treat defending your personal information as our most important job!
  • Traffic to the Site passes through CDN providers (for acceleration and protection).
  • Email is delivered by the Site's own mail system.
  • Where required by laws and regulations, the Site may lawfully cooperate with competent authorities.

6. Companion Tools (DoH)

If you use the Site's DoH service:

  • For quota and anti-abuse purposes, the gateway records your query statistics (including queried domains and counts) and source IPs (at most 200 per token). This data is isolated per token and visible only to you on the DoH page; rotating the token does not reset statistics or quotas.
  • Queries are split between upstreams inside and outside mainland China by target domain; your client subnet information (EDNS Client Subnet) is never propagated upstream — upstreams only see the EDNS address supplied by the Site's gateway and never learn your IP or subnet.

7. Storage and Retention

  • Data is stored on the Site's own servers in Singapore; its storage and processing are governed by Singapore's laws and regulations.
  • Only the latest 50 login records are kept per account.
  • Deleted content is handled under the moderation rules of the Community Rules; records necessary for moderation may be retained for a reasonable period.

8. Your Choices

You can manage your profile, third-party links, and notification preferences in Settings. To delete your account, or for any other request regarding your personal information, email admin@n.ht.

9. Policy Updates and Contact

This policy may be updated; material changes will be announced via site announcements or system messages. For any privacy question, contact admin@n.ht.
